Finding a good pair of sunglasses is tough. They have to accentuate your features, but stand alone in their own right. Some folks like shades that scream at the top of their lungs, while others want something classic and simple. A perfect pair of glasses needs to fit right and look good, but still provide quality protection from UV rays. You should look good sporting sunglasses without dropping a car payment on them. After all, you deserve it.

Enter the Oakley Holbrook. Take the simple charm of the 1950’s and mix in the rebel attitude of the 60’s and the smooth style of the 70’s. Now hand the reigns over to the professionals at Oakley and The Flying Tomato himself, Shaun White. They collaborated on these frames and it shows. Oakley has the sunglasses business down to a science and White brings a certain flair to the table that no one else can.

The frames draw inspiration from the Frogskins that originally pushed Oakley into the limelight, but have features that distinctly set it apart. The bold logos on the stems and the “bolt” accents on the front give the relatively simple shades an edgy look. The Holbrooks are wide enough to fit even the biggest domes, but smaller skulls won’t be swallowed by them. These very rockable frames are constructed out of Oakley’s O Matter, so they are light and durable. There are only a few color sets available, ranging from classic black to crystal red with ruby lenses. I expect the choices to expand in the future. The lenses provide the trademark clarity Oakley is known for. I picked up the polarized editions of the Holbrooks. The glare reduction is redonkulous and the frames rest nicely on my face.

Summer is creeping up fast and no one should be caught on the beach without a smooth set of face bling. Starting at $110, these are priced reasonably. If you want to look cool without looking like you’re trying, go score a pair of Oakley Holbrook’s. You can thank me later.
