The year is now 2018 and it's been 44 years since DJ Kool Herc gave birth to hip hop at a friend's birthday party in the Bronx. The young man's game is not the hip version it claims to be and the lyrics are suspect at best. Is this just an old man's rant about today's music? Is it? The thought was yes until...

Life x TimesMusicEven in Death… Biggie has a “Story to Tell”

Mike Ginn October 4, 2014
Little did anyone know when the late great Christopher Wallace aka the Notorious BIG released his much anticipated follow up album Life After Death in March of 1997 (just a few short weeks after the rapper's own death), that track number 12 was more than just an entertaining story. It was also true...

Life x TimesSportsThe Carousel of Michael Sam

Mike Ginn September 3, 2014
The question that will surround Michael Sam for the rest of his eternity and most definitely his NFL career is that if he wasn't publicly gay would he even be on an NFL roster? Is it fair? Yes. Why? Because he made it a public topic. When Sam publicly announced before the NFL draft that the current Defensive Player of the Year in the SEC is gay and proud of that, he made it a topic. The NFL was put in a corner. Do they draft him even though he might not be NFL material or do they pass on him and face the brutal public ridicule that would come with the media and numerous LBGT organizations boycotting their product.

Life x TimesTV * FilmThe Biggest Little Man in Comedy… Kevin Hart

Mike Ginn August 30, 2014
We often come across rare talents that transcend one venue to another. It might be a stretch to say Kevin Hart is 5'4" but his shadow he casts these days is larger than life. From humble beginnings in Philadelphia, born and raised (insert Will Smith joke)... Hart has built his way up the hard way, from small TV roles all the way to selling out Madison Square Garden. He's had highs and lows, and like all great comedians he uses that as fire for his act and his life. For instance, Hart's very public split from ex-wife Torrei Hart and his not only confession of mistakes but the fuel that gave him for really getting focused on his career and the heights that has taken him. He might never grow another inch, but his career is 10 feet tall.
